What almost was
The week of the 22nd to 26th of May was the “shoot out” that we’ve been hearing about at school since September of last year, as first year students in the photography program.
Monday, the 22nd, my school bestie and I drove to the location of the shoot out to offer assistance to our peers and scope out where in the Riverside Place building we wanted to set up for one of our classes. We explored the entirety of the building that was permitted to enter and took note of potential spots we might want to set up. We both found promising areas to shoot, and planned to do our shoots on Wednesday, the 24th.
We completed our shoot out packets, consulted our favorite tech/equipment guy and our instructor to determine what equipment we would need to properly light our shots.
It turns out I didn’t get to shoot my spot in the building on Wednesday. I ended up giving birth to my daughter that day. My school bestie did get to do her shoot, and she rocked it. I also wasn’t able to return to get my shot and by the end of the week, everything was packed up and the opportunity escaped me. While I can’t turn in anything from this building, I can share the pictures I took here.
Next year, hopefully, there won’t be anything to keep me from getting whatever image I am supposed to get that week.
